This specialized mobility aid allows children and adolescents with severe, rigid spinal deformities to remain mobile and upright while undergoing preparatory spinal stretching. This system connects the therapeutic halo ring—safely secured to the patient’s head—to a dynamic traction unit built into a customized walker.
- Appropriate walker will be provided based on the patient’s height, weight and age.
- Cross bar height is adjustable and allows for multiple pully selections for the best direction of pull.
- Rope, carabiners, ratchet rope adjusters, “S” hooks, and tools are provided.
- Halo head ring is not provided, but any head ring may be used.
- Traction weights need to be ordered separately.
- Walker arrives assembled; just insert the outrigger and adjust the height.
- Staff training on the use of the equipment is available.
